We are taping the show tomorrow at 8 am Arizona time. It will probably be posted by 11. Thank you, as always, for your contributions.

  1. I think the debate as to whether Rallis or Petzing has done the better job is very interesting. Seems like the “fan pulse” was preferential to Petzing in Year 1, then Rallis in Year 2.

I think the judgment for Year 2 is based on the perception that Rallis did more with less talent-wise, whereas Petzing did “less with more” (despite stats pointing to the 2024 offense being pretty good).

I think this has more to do with the eyeball test and Monti’s investment in the offense in both years than stats. Last year we had a defense that gave up a ton of yards but frequently made red-zone stops. Our offense seemed to similarly stall in the red zone, leading to a lot of field goals. On top of all that, going from a Kliff offense to Petzing’s offense, with less reliance on the passing game, was a little jarring.

In a lot of ways it seems like we still don’t know what to expect from the OC and DC after 2 years, so this season should be enlightening!
