Give us your thoughts about the game and/or your big picture opinions please.

Let your feelings loose, it's cathartic!

I apologize for dropping a couple f-bombs for the first time today. That's typically something I try to avoid. But seeing the Seahawks win their 8th game in a row and 5th in a row in Arizona is an emotional burden that needs to be purged, somehow. To lose that game in a span of 28 seconds is outrageous. So, yes, please accept my apologies for the vulgarities.

  1. No need for apologies, Walter! Watching this team (especially this iteration) isn’t for the faint of heart! Anyone but Mr. Rogers watching this would have a hard time avoiding vulgarities.

Was at the game with my wife, both of us decked out in the Rivalries jerseys, tailgating at 100+ degrees, and somehow the offense managed to drain us more than the heat ever could. Looking forward to listening to your take on it!

    1. Thanks, TMatty. I believe the Cardinals' current offensive coaches from the HC to the OC to the QBC are not experienced or skilled enough to develop QBs so as to maximize their talent and growth. I also sense that the passer that Kyler Murray was for much of 2020 and during the first 7 games in 2021 for the Cardinals is not ever coming back.

  2. Wait, you mean Ossenfort, Gannon, Petzing, Rallis, et,al are not the saviors of the Cardinals franchise as we were all told three years ago? You mean that cultural change everyone was being told (and bought into) was just a fictitious story. Are we saying the story is being manipulated? Who would do such things?

As for the game - The outcome was what I expected, the way we got there not so much. Kyler was 27/41 for 200Yds & 2INT & 2TD. Our running game was 12 for 48yds (excluding Kylers runs). We basically gave up on run before the run game even stepped onto field. Yet in passing game there were glaring issues with Kyler & Harrison (so bad we had to listen to announcers hitting the point). I did find it funny how they pointed out the passive-v- active roles of our head coaches... two different approaches, two different results.

It is frustrating, disappointing, and downright inexcusable that Cardinals franchise continues its path of ineptitude. One rebuild rolls right into the next, and the next, and next after that. Our coaching turnstile remains in effect until we can one-day hire competent head coach and keep said head coach in building for a franchise & culture change to take effect.

    1. The Cardinals have an owner who does not value experience either at the GM level or for the HC position. And now he has a GM and HC who also do not value experience in any shape or form. That's why this franchise in terms of hires is a turnstile. When the hue and cry for the fans gets too loud, the firing and hiring cycle repeats. "This is a change that had to be made."

    2. other than ST coach the only Cards personnel having anything to do with play on the field with any experience in their current role is Mike Bidwill. How frightening and prophetic is that?
The only personnel with even one winning season in their current role/title is Mike Bidwill.
The only personnel with long term success in their current role is... no one.

  4. I've been thinking about why the record against the NFCW is so poor. While part of it is this coaching staff is outmatched, that would be the case with almost any coach because the NFC West has elite coaches and KK also struggled against the division, putting up an 8-14 record in the division. It is worth noting that Colt McCoy was 3-1 vs the West and Blough 0-1, meaning Kyler was 5-12 vs the West while KK was coach.

Which brings me to my point. Kyler has always had an especially difficult time dealing with elite interior D Lines. I don't know how much of it is due to his height and his inability to break tackles compared to most QBs, how much is his mentality, and how much is the play calling, but he is the common factor more so than the coaching. NFC West teams have always been built from the inside. They all play tough, hard nosed football. They are aggressive and bring the pressure. The Oline needs to be better, but these are defenses that even make the best OLines struggle.

You won't beat these defenses with QBs who hold onto the ball too long and you won't beat them with defenses that play soft coverage. I will give credit that the defense is at least improving relative to the last 2 seasons in these games, but the offense has fallen off so much in these games that it hasn't mattered.

    1. Points well stated, UF. It's one thing to have to take on McVay and Shanahan 4 times a year, but to be getting swept each year by the Seahawks gives the Cardinals no realistic chance of winning the division.
