Questions:
How can Kyler Murray in his 7th year be the lowest graded QB in the NFC West?
How can the Cardinals' inexperienced coaching staff with no senior advisors compete in a division with Sean McVay, Kyle Shanahan and Mike Macdonald?

These PFF Grades just reflect what we've already been saying, its about the coaching...
ReplyDeleteWhen our coaching staff would receive PFF Grades in the 40's is it any wonder their players they didn't discipline, didn't develop, and coddled players.
Lets face it 3yrs into rebuild and we need to start-over. Our draft selections and FA moves have been under-developed and underwhelming in their performance. Its clear Monti has a part of problem as well. Of course we don't know what Mikey has done/said to fulfill his claims of the Bidwill Legacy of worst franchise in the NFL, AGAIN!
We gave muligans to the staff for past two years for the same issues, we ignored the warnings (as fans) in hope that in year 3 of a rebuild we would see a playoff team. THIS IS NO PLAYOFF TEAM!!! This team couldn't beat the ASU Sun Devils.
I'm upset that I took bait of HOPE for a winning season and potential to be playoff team. But the coaches held players back. That is obvious five games into season, when your offense looks great for 1Q and crap for 3Q...every freakin game! When your Offense can't extend a drive and seal a win. When your Defense rolls over to give up game winning drives. When your team looks like "Keystone Cops" and a binge. We've been watching a circus, and the clown-show has been a nightmare save the humor of watching how the 'cheapest' show on earth. The audience is not impressed.
Question:
DeleteOf our remaining 13-games of the season what is your best guess as to record at year's end?
my best guess as to the record-they might beat the Falcons so I'll go out on a limb and say they will be 3-14. I'd put $$ on it based on what we've seen and because I also believe that this annual mash unit of players will get further "injured" stay "injured" and miss games in a throwaway season where they are not going to risk career injury to be part of a failed effort.
DeleteDo we have a FO that can repair their own mess and move forward effectively or should they be shown the door like the staff and QB? All decisions will be made by that icon of football genius and insight-M Bidwill. We are in good hands aren't we.
I’m at 5-12, even though I don’t see 3 wins on the schedule. It just makes more sense to me a scenario where we win just enough to stay out of the top 3-4 of the draft and win a couple games once we’ve got nothing to play for.. 5 wins would put the Monti/JG regime at 17-34 over 3 years. Based on the on field product I’ve seen thus far and the schedule ahead it looks like we’re staring a 6-10 game losing streak in the face.
Delete11-14 = opponents record first 5 games
15-8-2 = opponents record next 5

??? = I will assume we split the 'winnable games' to end season @ 4-13 - top 10 draft selection. Which begs the question, what is the top need on this awful team? QB, Edge? Is Monti capable of a successful draft?
Man 4-13 for the 3rd time in the last 4 seasons would be brutal. I know I don’t want Monti making another draft pick for this organization, especially if it’s a qbotf at the very top of the draft.
DeleteI'm by no means saying tank, but if this is a lost season (and I'm thinking 4-5 wins at this point), is this the best opportunity the team will have to move on from Kyler? My fear before was that we would be stuck in mediocrity, never having great draft position. Of course I would prefer to win, but if this is as bad as it looks is there a silver lining?
ReplyDeleteconsensus so far is 3-5 wins. Does the staff, FO keep their jobs? Do they deserve to keep em?
ReplyDeleteWill they keep job? That is purely on the whims of Michael Bidwill and a pure roll of dice - unless fans are calling for heads when MB will roll with his next scapegoat...but here are my best guesses.
DeleteMO - MB will keep his yes man in-place for at least another 2-3yrs.
JG - MB will give Gannon one more year to prove it, if he has aanother sub-500 year next year he will be out.
DP - Gannon will release Petzing as part of condition to keeping his job fr one more year.
NR - Gannon will keep Rallis for 'continuity'.
Bonus:
KM - Traded for 7th round pick
I think everyone but MO is on the hot seat: coaches and QB. My guess is that MO would get a second shot at hiring a HC.
DeleteAs for whether anyone deserves to keep their job? Probably not. We went from a "tough" 4-win team with moral victories to a 2nd year team that should have made the playoffs if not for an utter implosion. Instead of building of the start to last season, we are continuing the slide of the latter part of 2024.
I hope you’re wrong. Monti chose this staff and roster. He’s as culpable as anyone for the product. As redrun said, Mikey B loves his yes men and Monti is defintely that so perhaps his job is safe sitting here at 2-3. What happens if they go on a 6-10 game losing streak? Hopefully no one is rewarded with more time at that point.
DeleteThis next game against the Colts will tell us everything we need to know. If the players response to the whole situation and play the way I think they can, I believe a win is possible. If Gannon has lost the team/locker room, we will know very swiftly with the talent this Colts team has.
ReplyDeleteIMO, the low grades of the OL and DL is a direct correlation to the young coaches. Special teams, which is overseen by an experienced coach in Rodgers, is the only respectable grade we have.
I must admit, I have been wondering if Budda has been playing hurt because he does not seem his usual self. But there is nothing on the injury report. Has his role changed a bit with trying to get DTD and Crawford on the field a bit?
How can the Cardinals' inexperienced coaching staff with no senior advisors compete in this division?
Funny enough, they have been. 3 and 3 last year with competitive games that resulted in the 3 loses. Even this year, both games against the NFC West was there for the taking. In fact, we should have won them both.
I don't know if there was a bigger believer than me coming into this season. I bought into everything and was on here defending everything they were doing and rebutting points to the contrary. No more. It sad that this team managed to break my optimism for this season.
Did Rallis ever explain why he refuses to blitz ever? Any QB is going to do well without pressure.
ReplyDeleteAs of October 8, 2025, the Arizona Cardinals rank 2nd in the NFL for blitz percentage during the current 2025 season. Their defensive philosophy centers on creating pressure with the front four while relying on complex coverage schemes and disguised looks behind them.
