What are your thoughts about Mike LaFleur as new HC of the Cardinals?
What kind of flower is Mike LaFleur? ("fleur" is flower in French)
LaFleur just hired family friend and long time lackey, N Hackett as a continuation of the failed, retread, good ol boy nepobaby network that permiates the NFL. Another example of how the Rooney Rule is a joke.
ReplyDeleteHackett was fired from his last 2 major coaching gigs before the season ended.
Bad start to finding a competent staff
It’s Bidwill’s plan to sign A. Rodgers to make a splash
DeleteRodgers won’t work for Bidwill and destroy the little legacy he has left
DeleteGreat episode, guys! I really enjoyed Walter's discussion of the lack of diversity on this team. I thought it was a mistake with our last round of hires and hope the team does a better job with the new shakeup (although HC and OC positions are now filled). Looking forward to your forthcoming post on the subject.
ReplyDeleteOn the press conference, the major takeaway for me was LaFleur's anecdote about Bidwill offering up State Farm for him with both the 49ers and Rams situations. While Cardinals ownership is rarely talked about in a positive light, LaFleur's story seemed truly sincere. I thought Walter would appreciate that, given the frequent talk of "karma" and "football gods" on the podcast. On that note, let me ask this: if tampering to get Gannon and then tanking led us to the 2026 season, might those kind acts to our NFC West rivals have put LaFleur on our doorstep for a positive reason?
Maybe that's "out there" thinking, but hope for Cardinals' success is like the faint glimmer of an oasis in the desert that may or may not be a mirage.
Good stuff, TMatty. MLF to Arizona feels like fate. Sure hope he can show MB/MO how a first-class organization operates.
