Cardinals at Pick #3: What is your plan? Who is your guy?
By Walter Mitchell
For me:
1. Stick and Pick. Be committed.
2. Defensive choice: ED Rueben Bain Jr., The U
3. Offensive choice: RB Jermiyah Love, Notre Dame.
4. Would also be excited about:
* LB Arvell Reese (Ohio St.)
* ED David Bailey (Texas Tech)
* LB Sonny Styles (Ohio St.)
* CB Mansoor Delane (LSU).
5. Day 2 priorities: SCB, DT, WR
6. Day 3: BPA, follow the board.
Your turn. What's your plan? Who is your guy?

Happy Easter my friends, in excelsis deo.

Happy Easter...
ReplyDeleteMY plan would be...
(1) Stick & Pick
Priority w/#3
(a) Bain
(b) Styles
(c) Bailey
--I might get excited over Reese, but I still get nervous with a Hybrid (Thanks Mr Keim).
#34
S-CB (Scott or Ponds)
NT (McDonald or Hunter)
OT (Proctor or Ichenanchor)
I would not be opposed to a trade back into round 2 with pick 65 and future pick (if McDonald is on board with #34 and we can get a pick in top 50 to still get Scott or Ponds)
What I'd be MOST Disappointed is with #3 pick we go with Simpson or an OT; WE MUST FIX DEFENSE.
We are of similar minds, Redrun. But are the Cardinals?
DeleteThe ONE thing we know about Cardinals FO draft pick....
DeleteIT won't be selected by our QB or to appease any player on roster.
Neither Bain, Scott(interviewed at the Combine) nor Styles was brought in for Top 30 like Bailey, Reese and Banks. J Love came in this past weekend. Simpson and Beck brought in too. Caleb Banks brought in and injured so MO likes him-might be a steal in 2nd round.
DeleteMy Easter mock.
ReplyDeleteGot a call from TN to move down one spot after a promise not to take my guy and for left over Easter candy along their second rd pick in 27.
The bounty:
#4 Bain Jr Edge
Traded down at 34 because I knew the simulator would still have Walt’s slot CB
#56 K Scott CB
#65 K Banks DT
#66 C Tiernan OT
#88 Z. Wheatley S/LB
#104 B. Schrauth OG.
Other than PJJ, who is considered the 14th best T in the League not a single pick of MOs comes close to League Top Ten. ONTOH-his 1st round Darious Robinson is considered the "worst performing defensive linemen" in the NFL.
ReplyDeleteHey Walt! I’m quiet this time of the year because I’m not attuned to the college game, but I appreciate your insight. Your track record here has been great in the past. Appreciate the offseason insights and look forward to your draft analysis!
ReplyDeleteI can't post on your newest article Walt. No sure if the problem is on my side or yours.
ReplyDeleteAs long as they end up with either Bain or Bailey, they should be very happy
