Arizona Cardinals' Schedule Release AI Generated Video Yet Another PR Fiasco

By Walter Mitchell

If it isn't embarrassing enough that after the 2026 NFL Draft the Arizona Cardinals were ranked #32 in the NFL Power rankings and then issued a schedule in which they are not favored in a single game, even against the Jets and Raiders later in the season, their lazy, uncreative schedule release video featuring "Big Red," the team's mascot, was yet another in a long line of the team's public relations fiascos.

Have a look and judge for yourself:

Here is a sampling of reactions from Cardinals' fans on social media:

Embarrassing. Bidwill, sell the team. Every single fan wants you to sell the team. Legitimately every single fan.

Shitty social team and a shitty on field product……We are in hell

WTF was this?!? 😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭

This is legit embarrassing. This has by far been the worst offseason in franchise history and this team is trying its best to keep the fanbase at rock bottom. Wild times for sure.

Lazy and cheap corporate AI slop. Reflects the team and ownership.

I was expecting ass and somehow this was still worse than I ever could’ve imagined. Thank you Cardinals for always reminding me I can be more disappointed than I already am.

Raiders killed their schedule release and this was the complete opposite. Absolute garbage from this organization. Embarrassing on the field and off.

Your GM is ruining this franchise. He’s supposed to build the brand and put out a good product. When has he done that?

Wow. Why do I have tickets?

, we fans are already embarrassed by years of awful on-field results. Why do you have to further embarrass us with a terrible, unfunny, cringe AI-slop schedule release video? How come LAC and other teams get cool release videos? Why do you torment us so?

Arizona Media Reaction to Video:

Current likes on schedule release videos:

Seahawks: 2.7k Rams: 2.3k 49ers: 1.4k Cardinals: 275

A small window into how each organization is viewed by its own fanbase right now.

Commentary:

Today on Red Rain Podcast 214 we are going to provide a chronology of how many times the Cardinals' front office has double-crossed itself over the 13 years of Michael Bidwill's tenure as Team President.

We are going to start with how the Cardinals double-crossed their own draft this year, let alone the post-schedule release video.

What we would like you to do ---> comment on what. you believe are the top 3 factors as to why the Cardinals' front office is so systematically dysfunctional.

  1. I doubt that this video should be a reflection of the Cardinals social media team, who I bet are all very talented and comparable to any other NFL social media teams . I can't even imagine the GM setting the parameters for a video to look like a low budget cop out. Has to come from higher ups right? Owner?

  2. A clear reflection of this franchise- embarrassing failure in every respect-a clear reflection of ownership

  3. LOL Ohh that was funny. Devins comment is my favorite Haha. This team is a joke. The Cardinals should hire a mascot comedian. Get Ed O'Neill to resurrect AL Bundy. The back story could be, Al moves to Arizona and is now a Cardinal fan. He could do standup at halftime. Hey Bidwill...It would give people a reason to tune in and it would bring in a national audience $$$

Cardinal fandom is like marriage. You pay and pay, but you never get anything back.

I had a dream last night. A big red-haired Cardinal in tight pants was hovering over me sucking money out of my wallet.

Twas the night before Christmas and all through the house, no food was a-stirring, not even a mouse... And I heard him exclaim, as he broke wind with glee: 'You're a Cardinal fan with children, you'll never be free!

  4. I don't do a lot of social media, so this was my first of seeing this. What a cheap production, your local church puts more effort into their weekly productions. Saying and recognizing ownership as a complete an utter failure for an organization (past, present, and future). Without a change at the ownership level, will the Cardinals ever have a team worth watching? Everyone is aware in NFL from executives, to coaches and players - nobody wishes to be part of this organizations continued dysfunctional ways.

  5. Walter, as a teacher I'm sure you had the unfortunate experience of having students who just coasted through. You knew they were capable of more but they just didn't care.

I think MB just doesn't care. He's coasting through as an owner and doing the bare minimum and why shouldn't he? He gets the same check from the NFL whether he tries hard or doesn't do anything. He surrounds himself with yes-men so that he doesn't even have to be questioned for not caring. He didn't like having someone like Bruce Arians around who knew what it took to make the team competitive because it meant having someone who had high expectations and would challenge him.

People say the Bidwell family should sell the team. They won't. Why should they? The family gets to coast through life on the NFL's dime. There's no benefit to giving that up. The only hope for Cardinals fans is that whoever is next in line actually cares. I'm not holding my breath.
