Round 4 (No. 104 overall): Kaleb Proctor, DT, Southeastern Louisiana — Athletic interior defensive lineman. Round 5 (No. 143 overall): Reggie Virgil, WR, Texas Tech — Deep threat added to the receiving corps. Round 6 (No. 83 overall): Karson Sharar, LB, Iowa — Front-seven depth piece. Round 7 (No. 217 overall): Jayden Williams, OT, Mississippi — Late-round tackle prospect
You know, the Rams and Sean McVay have always been gung-ho about getting their development of rookies started right away.
If indeed all 5 of the offensive rookies get first quarter snaps in the Cardinals' first pre-season game, for as long as I can remember, that would be a first for the franchise.
Welcome Back to the Future
Now, let's turn out attention to the nature of Mike LaFleur's passing offense.

Beck vs. Pickett
Cardinals' 3rd round rookie, Carson Beck, via the Georgia Bulldogs and Miami Hurricanes has been announced as the team's starting QB for the Hall of Fame game to kick off "Hail Larry" weekend in Canton, Ohio.
Strangely, Carson Beck was a hold-in during the Cardinals' OTAs who never got a single snap with the first or second team offenses because he and the Cardinals had not agreed on the terms of his rookie contract.
Finally, on the first day of training camp, Beck signed his contract.
During his first couple of days trying to assimilate into Mike LaFleur's sophisticated offense, Beck's passes were consistently off the mark.
But shortly thereafter, something began to click.

Tyler Drake and Cameron Cox, upon hearing that Carson Beck was named the Cardinals' HOF game starter both said, "as expected."
Gotta be honest --- I was expecting that Gardner Minshew would be the starter and Carson Beck would play the 2nd and 3rd quarters and Kedon Slovis would play the 4th.
So, yeah, based on the way Beck has been slinging well-timed, accurate passes in recent practices to all levels and corners of the field, let's go!

It's also pretty cool to think that we could see a first quarter lineup that includes:

RB Jeremiyah Love
RG Chase Brisontis
RT Jayden Williams
WR Reggie Virgil

What is highly impressive with regard to McVay's vertical passing game is how the QBs are being encouraged to let it fly early (not late!) and allow the WR to track the football before the CB can turn to try to locate it himself.
CBs Get To Compete
Speaking of CBs, Nick Rallis has asserted that the entire "CB position is an open competition."
